Small Town Snapshot Sunday #6

Wendy at On the Front Porch hosts Small Town Snapshot Sunday. Check out the other participating bloggers on Wendy's blog, then join us and post one of your own!

It's been a really busy couple of weeks for me, as it always it this time of year. Our family get together here is the 4th of July and then the weekend after is The Princess's birthday. We usually do another BBQ and outside fun for it, also. This year the Princess's birthday fell on Saturday, the same weekend of our city harvest festival. Because of all the work I needed to do at home I never ventured to town to see what all they had going on there. Saturday night was the fireworks, which was right across the street from our house....
I'll post more fireworks pictures later. They also had ballgames going on at the diamonds which are right down the road from us.
We weren't the only ones "camped out" in our yard this weekend. This is our neighbors yard on Sunday. Saturday they had a much larger group over. It's funny to see a fan in the yard in Kansas. But for most of the day Saturday there was little or NO wind. IN KANSAS!?!?
A little while ago I was reading the paper and heard a noise outside.... It was just that fire tank truck hosing down kids as part as the festival.
I'm trying not to go outside much today. I had enough heat the last week to last me for a while. Hope all the rest of you are having a safe and cool weekend!

Happy Birthday Princess. Hope your day was a good one with lots of cake, ice cream, fun and presents.

That fireworks shot is great. Looking forward to seeing more.

I wouldn't have minded being watered down by that firetruck. It's been hot here these last few days.

Hope all is well. Have a great night.

Michelle - I'll post more of the Princess's birthday later also.

& Wendy - It's been a scorcher around here for the last couple of days, triple digits. Looks like we might be in for a little relief come Tuesday night. I sure hope so.

I really like the foretruck hosing down the kids. What fun. Really liked you sky shots in previous post also. Check out Skywatch Friday http://skyley.blogspot.com/

I'm on the firetruck wagon, too. (Firetruck wagon? is that a thing?)

There are way too many firefighter-types in my life. It's about the only conversation topic around. But my point is that the firefighters are enjoying it as much as the kids.

Which is nice.

Joe - I have a friend that was doing the skywatch thing for a while. She always seemed to get some REALLY nice sky shots.

Eileen - We have a very dedicated volunteer fire department here. So, yes, they do enjoy hosing the kids down as much as the kids enjoy getting sprayed because they know most of the kids or are related to them.
