Saturday morning, the 20
th , my eldest Princess had her 3rd basketball game. I had been up late the night before and also had her brother and K-monster here spending the night. I set my alarm for 7:45am to have plenty of time to get up and around. I heard the alarm, reached over an hit snooze. I don't know how many times I did this but I finally awoke at 8:20! I jumped up and went downstairs to wake the boys. Managed to get them with on the go breakfasts and myself with a couple of cheese
stix, out the door and on the way to the school at 8:45. It was bone
chillin' cold out, so I was glad I had put on my long coat. It's only about 4 or 5 blocks to the school so I was sure we would get there in time, BUT, when we pulled up to the school there were no cars out front. I was about ready to panic, I was SURE that the game was here. If it was away there was no way we were going to get to it in time. We drove over to my son's and the car was gone so we drove back to the school and there were cars in the back lot. In the parking lot was my son's car. So we parked and followed everyone else in through a back door to the what they call the 'rubber gym' because of the what the floor is made of. This gym is designed just for practice, not spectators. There is only room for one row of folding chairs on either side of the the court and then you're right on the foul lines. I found out they were resurfacing the other gym and this is why we were having the game here. As late as we were, we weren't the latest. My son and
dil were already seated and we joined them an set up the camcorder. K-monster ran the camcorder for the first half and then let my
dil run it for the rest of the game. So the game
began without delay....
The girls are certainly improving...
...and started out with a burst of energy...
...back and forth the ball went from one end of the court to the other.
They all listen closely when the coach talks to them.
I think the other team picked up the beat after our girls burst of energy...
...but both teams had their power players that seemed to move easily on the court.
Some of my pictures almost look like theater and not basketball, don't you think?
At half-time K-monster took his cousins on the court and handed them basketballs. I think this little princess will be ready to play when she reaches her sister's age. She's already dribbling pretty well.
Below I caught a picture of one of our girls scoring baskets.
And this one, the ref stepped in front of me right as I took the picture, but I thought the effect turned out rather interesting.
And here was the final score.
Another learning experience. Still, looking good girls!

Look at the intent faces... they all play hard, don't they! Looks like they are having fun... and that matters more than the final score!
Yes... they were intent. They're all still just learning, but they certainly have spirit.
