I AM the Princess

That's what the button says that I made for my 'Princess' granddaughter. When she was around 5 years old she had informed everyone in the family that her new name was Princess and that was what everyone was to call her. I've been trying to think of blognames for each of the children since Kmonster is the only one that already has one. I think I will hereafter refer to the aforementioned Princess as KP1 for Kansas Princess #1. This way her little sister can be KP2 if she likes.
KP1 came to visit again today and as you see, I got the dress up things out of the closet. I also got more beads for her to make herself a necklace. Then after supper I got out the children's books on tape and she stretched out the mattress in the 'playroom' and listened to stories till she fell to sleep. Goodnight Sweet Princess!

What a sweet post... makes me miss being little at my grandma's house! She was the only person EVER who I felt unconditional love from...

I remember playing dress up. Why can't we still do that?? :)

anita - I'm honored to be even vaguely compare to your grandmother as that I know you loved her so much.

hippychic? You don't still play dress up? What do you think the Renaissance Fairs are all about? The mink that my granddaughter is wearing is a full sized stole and I have three of them, all different colors. My daughter still plays dress up, her husband doesn't object. ; )

How adorable! This took me back to my youth...and that was a really long time ago...lol. I have such fond memories of going through my granny's jewelry boxes for dress up and your mention of the beads, reminded me of the china hutch drawer where she kept all of the "art" supplies for our visits. Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning!

You are such a good grandma. Working full time seems to put a crimp in my time, so the only time I see my grandkids is when we camp together, and big family outings. I don't have any dress up clothes they could play with anyway. How I long to be "normal". *sigh.

Alice - guess I hadn't noticed how well her dimples showed up in the picture. I think she's pretty, but I'm kinda biased. : )

Anajz - Glad to be handing out smiles today! All little girls should have the chance to dress up with granny's jewelry, or at least a favorite aunt's jewelry.

Carolyn - I bet you're a GREAT grandma. Children don't need things to have special times, they need love and attention, that's what they'll remember. What I remember most about my grandmas was their presence, the way they paid attention to ME and how that made me feel.
