Yesterday I had to go to town to get a birthday present for my grand-niece, I am taking my son's youngest daughter to her birthday party on Sunday. While in town we went to the post office to mail off our taxes and a couple packages that I needed to get sent (you know who you are). I thought I was going to get my new lenses from my optician's office but they're closed on Fridays. Lastly to our intended destination. We went to one of those superstores (which will remain unnamed till they pay me to promote them) where you can do your one stop shopping and never have to set foot in a "mom & pop" store ever again (that is, if you could find one). We did a little bit of shopping in most all the major departments, picked up a couple presents (one for the granddaughter to give and one from our family) and ended with a few groceries.
At the checkout I was making small talk with the cashier and stated, as explanation of the 5 heads of cabbage, that I was going to help the dil make bierocks. The cashier asked, "What's bierocks?" I paused and looked at her, then asked, "You're not from around here, are you?" At that time I noticed a man at the next register looking our way with the huge knowing smile on his face. She said that she was from somewhere out east, so I proceeded to explain to her what a bierock was and where she could obtain one. It made for an interesting outing.

Hi! To tell you the truth I hate going to the shops with a passion. If I go, I get what I want and get out quick.
Although lately we have been shopping on line, where the goods are delivered to our door. I couldn't think of anything better.
I can see that one day, we won't even have to leave the house!
Regards,
Peter
I guess that clerk will be adding "try a bierocks" to her list of things to do.
I've tried to take some photos of the fans - but didn't like how they turned out. I was standing atop the parking garage of Gander Mountain, and was getting them from a side view.
Have you seen the lighted Palms on Kellogg? Those were a suprise to me - I've got some photos of them, but haven't posted them, yet.
Poor soul, I can't imagine never having a bierock...!
I hate shopping, too... that's why even now, 10 months after the tornado, just about all the clothes I have were free ones we were given... lol
Peter - I enjoy shopping, it's spending money that I don't like. I've done lots of "window shopping", just looking without buying anything. We've bought quite a lot of things online. Being so far from town it's easier to shop online.
Wendy - I'd like to see what the artist's concept was with the fans, because I don't think it was what it turned out to be. It's got to be one of the worst placements of a piece of are that I've ever seen. No, I haven't seen the palms. They sound lovely, though.
Anita - It's strange realizing that something you find to be common turns out to be unknown to a large portion of the population.
