Computer Issues

I had planned on posting a video slide show of the pictures I had taken in Fresno of the Mennonite Men's Chorus with audio that I'd recorded on my digital recorder. But I'm having problems with this computer. When I attempt to play back the audio it stutters, or skips, like a vinyl record did when scratched, bad enough to "click" but not bad enough to repeat. The really baffling thing about this is that it doesn't do it with ALL audio files, and the format doesn't seem to make a difference. I can find nothing consistent to try to pinpoint the problem. I've turned off the graphics acceleration and that didn't seem to make any difference. I'll probably have to access the files on another computer or my laptop to create my slide show, but not tonight. If anyone has any suggestions as to what my problem might be, I'd sure appreciate the input.

AMD Athlon 64 Processor
3400+
2.41 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM
XP Home Edition V.2002 SP2
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Tonight I have the K-5 Spring Music Program to attend. I'll probably post pictures from this when I get home.

Wish I could help. BTW, is the audio alright on the source?

Thanks, Anita. I found the pick online when I googled images for "computer problems".

Hi, psi! Wish you could help too. : ) The audio source is fine. I can listen to the file, which is a .wav file, on the Nero and QuickTime players, but Windows Media Player, Windows Movie Maker and Vegas editing is what is giving me problems.

Stop! Don't shoot the computer as I'd hate to see you put a hole in your lovely wall. Do something less violent like pick it up and throw it out the window. All jokes aside, I hope your problem is solved very soon.

Loved all the images from your trip and I hope you're still in one piece!

Take Care,
Peter

I agree with Anita. That picture is priceless. I know we have all felt that way, one time or the other. Wish I could help!

On another computer note ... I never know which way is best ...so I'm going to try something. You left a comment at my blog today, and I answered back -- within the post you commented. I will try to continue to do it this way. Do people remember to come back and read your response when you do it this way? I know some gals respond by email ... but I like having the comment linked with the post to make the connection on down the road months and years from now. Just looking for some imput from other bloggers:)

Is it storming your way? We got rain last night, and more again today.

In blogspot you have the option to receive posted comments via email when you post a comment. I usually just respond in the comments section and people do seem to come back and check it out.

We had storms last night, nothing terribly bad. Today we have a light rain, rather pleasant really. The birds are really singing loudly and I've notice that I have volunteer flowers coming up in my long planters by my steps. Looks like marigolds.

Opps! Hey Peter! For some reason I thought I had already responded to your comment. Sorry 'bout that. Good to see you, you seem to be rather busy lately. Years ago when I was first learning computer (DOS) a friend of mine said that he had owned an early computer. I talked his wife into getting a computer when everything went to Windows and whenever he got frustrated with it he would threaten to use it as an anchor for his fishing boat (he said that was where his first computer was, the bottom of the lake). LOL

Hi! Busy? I've been flat out like a lizard drinking. Between the two jobs, I was able to get away with the wife to see our children. We flew from Sydney to the top end of Australia and spent 11 wonderful days with them. Glad to be back home though!

Take Care,
Peter
