Folklore Meeting Golden Wheat Chapter AHSGR

The Folklore meeting is one the most popular meetings of the Golden Wheat Chapter AHSGR. Recently the board has decided that our banner should be displayed at our meetings, why else do we have it? For this meeting it was draped over the table where everyone registered and the items from the library and fund raiser items were laid out.
One of the best things about the Folklore meeting is all the ethnic German/Russian foods that members bring.

Some items go quick so you do well to be at the head of the line.

After the meal there was time to visit and check things out...

...our library has quite a few resources for researching German/Russian genealogy. Several of those resources were brought out for people to see.

There was a nice gathering of both members and guests at our meeting.

We also have Watkins products that we receive a percentage of the sales for our chapter.Next was our meeting. There was a Memorial service for all the members and family that had passed in 2009. We also had the Installation of Officers for the new year. Then Karen gave gifts to of recognition to special members that often work tirelessly on the sidelines.

We were entertained by a wonderful brass trio, starting with a polka.

Then various member shared with us folktales and stories, riddles, and proverbs.

It was a wonderful time, good food, good company and good entertainment. What more could you ask for!
