My youngest granddaughter in Kansas celebrated her birthday on Saturday. Great Grandma & Grandpa and Great Uncle & family had to cancel at the last minute because the roads were not going to be safe to travel. But she still had a wonderful birthday and was sufficiently spoiled by the rest of us. She first received her birthday crown and earrings and had her picture taken with her cake.
After blowing out the candles it was time to cut up and hand out cake and ice cream.
The birthday girl got the first piece with plenty of icing and even chocolate syrup for her ice cream.
The first present was hidden in the bedroom... A brand new bicycle.
Then on to all the other presents.
Looks like a pony collection beginning...

Holy Cow! Just catching up on reading finally - you have been a busy bee!! Do you get to go to sleep ever? LOL!
It is raining big bits of ice here in town right now - I am thinking a lot of things will be cancelled due to the weather. I can cross my fingers for school to be out too! :)
Oh yes I wanted you to know that the shawl - has been passed back and forth over these last couple weeks between all of us girls in the house. Even my silly hubby wore it to go get the mail the other day. Thank you so much for that gift of love. :)
Great pictures! She is adorable... and the party looked like a lot of fun!
My mom would love all the Coca-Cola stuff!! :)
kshc - Great to see you back! It's crunchy slick here too. I'm not going anywhere. You know, before there were fitted coats, all anyone had was capes and blankets (shawls). Good to hear that the love is getting shared!
anita - She knows she's adorable, too! lol Just a bit spoiled also.
That is my daughter's house. She and her husband are obsessed about Coca-Cola stuff. It's all over their house, except the boy's rooms.
My mom's kitchen is Coca-Cola and Elvis... lol
Her living room is Gone with the Wind and her boyfriend's fire truck stuff...
I have a hard time describing the man my mom lives with... he's 72, not exactly a 'boy'friend... What to call him?? lol...
Hi! If only I could get that many presents when I turn 52. I would indeed me a lucky man! I'm so jealous! - regards Peter
Anita - Gone with the wind and firetrucks.... sounds like an interesting combination. Guess I'm of no help in what you call your mom's "boyfriend". I've sat her trying to think of other "cute" terms and am not coming up with much... roommate, companion?
Peter - The grandchildren are so terribly spoiled! We only buy presents for the littler ones anymore. The older ones, when they get up toward their teens, we usually just give cash. And they really like getting their cash to go buy what they really like.
