Grand Basketball

Saturday the 5th of December was the Princess granddaugher's first basketball game of the season. It was also her sister's birthday which is why I am only now getting these pictures posted.
The game was in the morning and was an away game.

Someone fouled her and she had a free shot... she missed but wasn't too far off.

They didn't win but they did score.
K-monster's first game was on the 3rd. He warmed the bench this game so this is the only picture I'm posting. His second game was the 10th and I missed it. He has his 3rd game on the 17th, but it is away so I will miss it too.
The Princesses second game was on the 12th...

One last goal for our girls right before the buzzer...
This game was rather fast paced from one end of the court to the other.

Golden Wheat AHSGR Christmas Party

It is the opinion of many members that there is just as much 'food' at our Christmas party snack table as there is at our other meetings with covered dish dinners.
I would like to point out the little wedge sandwiches just past the bright green bowl. These are cream cheese sandwiches that I made without using any particular recipe. To my surprise many people wanted to know what the ingredients were. I will have to post the 'recipes' at a later date.
The quartet did a wonderful job of getting us all in the Christmas spirit.
We had a nice large attendance this year, the weather was accommodating for a nice change.
Harold's 'fractured' version of "The Night Before Christmas"...
...had more than one member in stitches.
Then what the children had been waiting for... Santa came in through the back door.
All the children went up to see Santa...
...as he went through his bag and called out the names...
...of each of the children that were there.
With an empty bag, Santa wished all a Very Merry Christmas.
The children happily opened their gifts.
The final event was to draw the tickets for the fund raiser gifts. My little PK won the Walt Disney basket.
Her birthday party had been the day before so she had really good weekend.
It was another great gathering of the Golden Wheat Chapter AHSGR.

PK's 6th Birthday

Last Saturday was PK's Birthday party. Each of these balloons contained money. I told her she should wait till the wouldn't float anymore before going after the money. Just to make sure and hang on to them when she heads home.
The birthday girl and a friend were deeply engrossed in a movie.
But the boys were outside with the Nerf guns, a favorite past time at this house.
First was playtime and snacks.
Then it was cake time. PK was happy to have a horse gracing her birthday cake.
Below was just after we all sang 'Happy Birthday' and the reason for the laughter is that PK goes by two names. At school they call her by her first name but at home most of us call her by her middle name because she and her aunt share first names. So both names were sang by different people at the party.
Her daddy had a surprise for her, a paddle for her birthday spanking and it even had 'Happy Birthday' engraved on it. Of course, it was just a joke, there was NO birthday spanking.
Then it was time to open the presents.
A pretty pink outfit and lots of craft items. All of her favorite things.
Tinkerbell, stickers and markers...
...and beads to snap together in pretty combinations.
And lastly the BIG box...
Oh! a trick. More wrapped presents inside the BIG wrapped present.
More horses to add to her herd, just what she wanted.
Daddy kidding around at the end of a wonderful party.
Have a wonderful year sweety!

K-5 Christmas Concert

The Kindergarten through 5th grade concert was the other night and my son's three children were performing. PK is in Kindergarten this year. See her standing in the first row center below?
His one son (I'm still working on a nickname for him) is in 3rd grade this year. That's him on the center top row in the picture below. I really like the song they were singing here, "Children Go Where I Send Thee" but it was REALLY long. Over 6 minutes. If I can get the video to load I will include a short clip of this performance.
And the Princess is in the 5th grade. That's her center 2nd row from top.
Their performance of "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" got them exuberant applause...
...for their dancers. The audience really enjoyed this.
I didn't get a good picture of the band because they sat in the dark. You can see below where they sat in front of the stage.

Just a little sampling of the Christmas Concert.
