K-Monsters Birthday 2010

Another grandson Birthday! The kids really like the Halloween decorations. The cat below is quite nice... It's head is motorized and moves back and forth.
K-Monster's party started out with pizza!
He decided he'd rather have a cookie rather than a cake.
Guess that makes him the Cookie K-Monster.
Boys never grow up, their toys just get bigger and more eleborate.
Finally a slide show of him opening his presents.

K-Monster's Halloween Birthday

Saturday was Halloween and K-Monster's birthday is a couple days prior so my daughter held his birthday party so they all could go trick or treating afterward.
New decorations this year was the giant black pumpkin and black cat whose head went back...
...and forth.
There was the ghoul in the old pickup truck, the bones on that dash light up and what's left of the old spider they had built several years ago.
Saturday was a beautiful, sunshiny day. After eating pizza they all went outside and played on the trampoline and with the Nerf guns.
Little PK had my old camera and was being a shutterbug. I'll post some her pictures later.
My brother brought his new toy, and Airsoft gun, that the boys had fun shooting at pop cans and Styrofoam plates.
K-Monster had a giant cookie instead of a decorated cake.
And we sang 'Happy Birthday' but there were no candles.
After cake/cookie and ice cream it was time to open the presents. Most of his presents came in the form of cards with money in them, which was just fine with him.
Then we were directed outside where his new bicycle and Nerf gun were waiting for him.
Time for everyone to get dressed up...
Isn't she just the cutest little witch?
Here's our group of Trick or Treaters all ready to gather loads of candy.

Princess Tea Party

As you can see by the invitation above, Tuesday, July 14 was a Gala Event at Ye Olde State Bank Treasures & Antiques!
K-Monster took on yet another role as doorman and did an exceptional job of announcing all the lovely Princesses as they arrived for the party.

The first order of events was to be received by King Allen and Queen Christine ...
Each Princess was received individually and greeted by name...
The Princess, the honored guest, received a gift from His Majesty the King.
While waiting for all the Princesses to arrive gift bags of goodies and bling were enjoyed.

After tea or lemonade was chosen everyone was given a goblet of cherry soup.
...then came the lovely sandwiches, heart shaped cucumber sandwiches and flower shaped peanut butter and jelly.
The Princess then opened her gifts...
There were many lovely gifts, some wonderfully handmade...
...to many to picture every one...
The Princess will enjoy using them all.
Some gifts held gifts inside of them...
...and one was amusing by being double wrapped.
This one held a glowing Princess wand.
Then came the Birthday cake...
I apologize for the quality of the following photo. I neglected to check my picture to make sure I got a good shot and something cast a terrible shadow to the right of the photo. I doctored it in my graphics program, but it's still not quite right. Maybe I can fix it better if I spend more time on it.
The cake was made by a friend of the family that makes and sells them but she refused payment as her gift to The Princess.
The final and important event of the Princess Tea party was for Their Majesties to teach the girls about being Princesses, about Chivalry.
They talked to the girls about what it is to be virtuous...
...and told of each of the 7 virtues: Honesty, Courtesy...
...Loyalty, Humility...
...Charity, Perseverance...
...and Courage.
Then the girls were given the opportunity to come forward to be "Princessed". To promise to try to be virtuous and to help those in need.
...and each girl came forward...
...one at a time...
...to become "Princesses"...

...and at the end they bestowed Knighthood on K-Monster for his service to the kingdom.
And all lived Happily Ever After!
