Happy Halloween!

The granddaughters came over to get ready for Halloween. The older granddaughter is wearing my leather fringe jacket and bag that I got for Christmas around 1970 or so... The hat and boots are mine also but not as old, the boots being much newer.

For the younger granddaughter I found some long hair on a headband in with the dress up stuff to complete her Astrid costume from "How to Train Your Dragon." You never know what you're going to see on Halloween night.

Or what modes of transportation they will be taking.

I really like these and wondered if their costumes lasted till the end of the night. I think they were suppose to be the Fruit of Loom guys.

K-Monster's Halloween Birthday

Saturday was Halloween and K-Monster's birthday is a couple days prior so my daughter held his birthday party so they all could go trick or treating afterward.
New decorations this year was the giant black pumpkin and black cat whose head went back...

...and forth.

There was the ghoul in the old pickup truck, the bones on that dash light up and what's left of the old spider they had built several years ago.

Saturday was a beautiful, sunshiny day. After eating pizza they all went outside and played on the trampoline and with the Nerf guns.

Little PK had my old camera and was being a shutterbug. I'll post some her pictures later.

My brother brought his new toy, and Airsoft gun, that the boys had fun shooting at pop cans and Styrofoam plates.

K-Monster had a giant cookie instead of a decorated cake.

And we sang 'Happy Birthday' but there were no candles.

After cake/cookie and ice cream it was time to open the presents. Most of his presents came in the form of cards with money in them, which was just fine with him.

Then we were directed outside where his new bicycle and Nerf gun were waiting for him.

Time for everyone to get dressed up...

Scar & Dragon-Dog

For all of you who were interested to see the grandson's scar, here's a picture. I guess they glued it together, so there's no telltale stitch marks on either side of the cut.
Just a few more pictures of the daughter's dog in his Halloween costume so you can see it better...

...looks like a big lizard is taking a piggyback ride.

The tail is suppose to fit over the dogs tail, but he's got a stubby and it doesn't quite give the same effect that a full length tail would.

Happy Halloween 2008

Just had to slip these pictures in before getting back to my projects and events. The first Trick-or-Treater of the night was the cutest little girl. Can you tell who she's dressed up as? Isn't she just adorable?
Shortly thereafter my daughter walks up walking her dog. The dog is suppose to be in a dragon costume...

...but he doesn't like his ears stuck through the holes that hold the dragon head on. So it just looks like he's got a lizard going for a ride on his back.

Here's my eldest granddaughter as a cheerleader...

...her sister as the sheriff (it's more about riding a horse than upholding the law)...

...and their brother as an injured dirt bike rider. I didn't get the moon boot in the picture.

Grandpa gave out the candy because I was out in the yard with my camera.

The following are pictures of some of the ghouls, goblins and witches that graced my yard with their Trick-or-Treatery...

It was a beautiful night to be out and about. The weather was mild and there was virtually no wind. I just had to get a couple pictures of my chandelier, it's not often calm enough to enjoy it.

The candles hardly flickered it was so calm.

I had candles on the porch also, but they weren't near as bright as this picture would have you think. I ended up having to turn on the porch light so kids would know that I was giving out candy.
And, as evidenced by my daughter, Halloween isn't just for kids. The pets are getting in on it too.
...next year I'm going to have to make sure and get some doggy goodies to give out.
...this little girl was soooo cute.
The last Trick-or-Treater was this black cat. She walked straight up my front step and right up to the door where I was standing as the last children were leaving. She walked right up like she knew me and even wanted to come inside but was content with laying down on the porch. I had never seen her till this night and have no idea who she belongs to.
A rather odd guest to have on Halloween night, don't you think?
